This letter from Paul offers us encouragement, hope, and clarity about who we are in Christ. This letter from Paul offers us encouragement, hope, and clarity about who we are in Christ. In this series you will learn how you can live an abundant life by putting your trust in Jesus as your Savior and Lord.
Righteousness through Faith in Christ.
In the beginning, God created the universe and everything in it. He created the first people, Adam and Eve, and gave them the task of taking care of the earth and filling it with life. But then something went terribly wrong. Adam and Eve disobeyed God, falling into sin and bringing humanity down with them. We were separated from God, without hope of salvation. So, how can we be made right with God? We can only be made right with God through faith in Christ. He came down to earth and became one of us, living a perfect life and dying on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. Through this, the sins of the world were taken away, and the way was paved back to God. Jesus rose again, proving that He is truly the Son of God and that with His death and resurrection, He opened new life to us. God now calls us to repentance, accepting Christ as our Savior and Lord.
A New Life Through Christ
Christians are not perfect, but we have hope. We have hope that one day we will be perfect, as God is perfect. We have hope that one day we will be free from sin and its consequences. In Christ, we have a new life. We are now God’s children. We are set apart from the rest of the world, and we are given a new task: to live for God. We now have God’s Spirit within us, giving us both the strength and wisdom to live out our new life in Christ. And as we live out this life, we are promised that one day we will be made perfect. Our bodies will be made new, and we will live out eternity with God.
Sin and Its Consequences.
We all sin, and we all suffer as a result. This is an inevitable part of life on this planet, and we are powerless to stop it. We sin and suffer because we were not created to exist this way. We were separated from God and without hope. Yet, through Christ, we can be saved from sin’s consequences. God promises to forgive our sins and restore us if we accept Jesus as our Savior. We are healed and made whole again when we accept Christ’s sacrifice for our sins. Through salvation in Christ, we are given hope for the future. We know that one day, when we have served our time on this planet, we will be restored to a relationship with God.
Justification through Faith in Christ.
How do you know that God has forgiven you for the sins you have committed? Do you have to do something to make up for them? In Christ, we are forgiven for our sins. God has already made up for them, and we do not have to do anything to earn His forgiveness. We are justified through faith in Christ. God sees us as pure and holy, as if we had never sinned. Justification is a gift through Christ. We do not earn it through our actions, and we cannot lose it because of our sins. Justification through Christ is permanent, and our relationship with God is secure.
Restoration through Salvation in Christ.
Sin has consequences. But when we accept Christ’s sacrifice, our sins are forgiven. Sin’s consequences are lifted. We are restored to a relationship with God. This is the ultimate consequence of sin: to be separated from God. But we are also restored to a new life, a life in Christ. Through this restoration, we are given a new task: to live for God. We now have God’s Spirit within us, giving us both the strength and wisdom to live out our new life in Christ. And as we live it out, we are promised that one day this life will be permanent. Our bodies will be made new, and we will live out eternity with God.
Conclusion
All of us have done things we wish we hadn’t. We have all sinned, and we have all suffered as a result. We have all been separated from God and without hope. But there is hope in Christ. He came down to earth and became one of us, living a perfect life and dying on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. Through this, the sins of the world were taken away, and the way was paved back to God. Christ rose again, proving that He is truly the Son of God and that with His death and resurrection, He opened new life to us. Now, God calls us to repentance. He calls us to accept Christ as our Savior and Lord, so that we can be healed and made whole again, and given a new life. Through this new life, we have hope for the future. We know that one day, when we have served our time on this planet, we will be restored to a relationship with God, and our new life will be permanent.
