I'm a Christ-Follower. Following Christ isn't about escaping the fires of hell; it's not about raising your hand when no one is looking to join a club. It's about daily picking up your cross, and it shows through the fruit of the spirit in your life. "Then he said to the crowd, 'If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.'" (Luke 9:23)
It's about deeply understanding the love of God and wanting to be obedient to His commands. "If you love me, obey my commandments." (John 14:15)
It's about living a life that is a reflection of His character. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!" (Galatians 5:22-23)
It means finding joy in surrendering your life to Him, trusting Him with your future, and being an example of His love to others. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take." (Proverbs 3:5-6)
It's about accepting His Grace, Mercy, and Forgiveness as payment for your sins. "He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins." (Ephesians 1:7)
It's about living a life of faith, hope, and love. "Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:13)
These words beautifully capture the essence of what it means to follow Christ. It's a journey of profound transformation, where faith becomes the cornerstone of your life. "And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)
This path is about embodying the love and teachings of Jesus, allowing His spirit to guide your actions and decisions. "For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." (Ephesians 2:10)
It's about embracing the grace, mercy, and forgiveness that He offers, and reflecting these gifts in your interactions with others. "Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you." (Ephesians 4:32)
By living a life rooted in faith, hope, and love, you become a beacon of His light in the world, inspiring others to seek the same peace and fulfillment. "You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden." (Matthew 5:14)
Your commitment to this journey is a testament to the power of faith and the transformative love of God. "For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength." (Philippians 4:13)
May these scriptures continue to guide and inspire you on your journey of faith.
